Whatever you focus on is what you will feel.
Take, for example, when you apply for a job and get no reply after 1 hour. You might get pissed off. And if you wait until the end of the day and still get no reply, now you are really pissed off and even angry.
You being pissed off and even angry has nothing to do with the job application.
I see so many people constantly complaining on LinkedIn about one thing or another. They are constantly focusing on what they do not have. It's easy to look at someone else's success or stuff and want it for ourselves, but this pattern will ultimately leave you unfulfilled.
What you need to do is have gratitude for what you have. Here's the most beautiful part: when you focus on what you have, you're in a much better place to give. And giving doesn't leave you empty; it fills you up. It creates this circle of abundance where the more you give, the more you get.
Start simple. What are you grateful for today? It could be your morning coffee, the roof over your head, or a message from a friend. Acknowledge it, feel it. That's your foundation. Build on it. Be resourceful, challenge the scarcity mindset, and watch how your world changes.
Yesterday, my buddy of 36 years hit me up to share that a new coffee shop popped up right next to his place in Marsiling, Singapore. He knows me well – sent over a pic on WhatsApp knowing full well that whenever I’m in town, I’ll be dragging him there for our marathon coffee sessions that go on until his wife has to remind him where home is. I am grateful that I still have friends who, despite their busy lives, take the time and effort to be a part of mine.
