God damn. What a Ride!
January 10th 2013
It's the New Year. Many of us will find ourselves reflecting upon our position in life. Do you love what you do? Are you following your bliss?
My job pushes my mind to master complex systems. I develop intuitive problem solving skills which give me the confidence to take on any challenge that life may present. As our skills are driven by advancing technology our minds never stagnate. We embrace change and all the opportunities that come along with it.
I have found my way in Visual Effects. My days are filled with creativity and exploration. I am surrounded by inspired and creative individuals. We support the telling of stories which can shape the future of our culture. The best of these stories inspire future generations to achieve their higher potential. Our contribution is very real.
I recommend you look at Visual Effects as a career that gives you so much more than financial means. Do what you love and the money will follow. I am a Visual Effects Artist and I love what I do.

Reflecting on this post I wrote a decade ago, it's remarkable how the essence of my journey in Visual Effects remains unchanged.
The years have only deepened my love for this craft, reinforcing that what I do is not just a job, but a calling. Each challenge, each student I helped, fuels my passion and creativity.
As I look back, I'm reminded that doing what you love truly is the secret to a fulfilling career.
A decade on, my commitment to Visual Effects remains unwavering, a testament to the enduring power of following one’s bliss in a constantly evolving industry.
P.S. I posted this video along with my original post and this message is still as profound and true the first time I heard it.
