Dear Former Students of Mine,

I always said if I had to choose between Work and Love, I will choose Love. If I had to chose between being a Professional or Being Authentic, I choose Authentic.

It is with great sincerity that I reach out to you today to share some exciting news. I have recently established a new company called Alpha Chromatica, Inc., affectionately known as Chromatica. This venture has been born out of various considerations, but one of the most significant factors is my deep longing to reconnect with my dearest friends and former colleagues.

There is a special place in my heart for individuals like Andrew Zeller, Andrew Lowell, Patrick Nico Schuler, Tananuch Phosri, Jerónimo Maggi, Elmoatasem Ragab, Robert Mastriano, Harrison Molling & Josh Robertson.

I guess Andrew Zeller's departure affected me more than I would like to admit. Damn it Andrew! We engaged in serveral lighthearted conversations about subjects ranging from Star Wars to Marvel to Transformers to Everything in between. I know our wives thought we had our own secret language at one point.

There is something about being surrounded by like-minded individuals who were driven by a common passion to create remarkable things or indulge in playful antics. It was truly invigorating.

After dedicating 13 years of my life to Lost Boys, recent changes in the administration led me to pause and reflect. It became evident that the time had come for me to embark on a new chapter. For the past 7 years, I have essentially been performing the same job. It feels as though I have come full circle since the early days when studios doubted the possibility of training compositors within such a short timeframe. Today, my students are getting jobs at as compositors at Sony, Framestore, DNEG, ILM, and everywhere across Canada right out of school.

After training 225 students and achieving a 99.52% placement rate within the VFX Industry for over a decade, I think people get it. I am pretty consistent, I teach well and I have used my teaching as an excuse to test out my jokes on unsuspecting students. And also dish out quotable nuggets of wisdom.

Before I delve into the details of my plans for Chromatica, I would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to all my former students and those who studied at Lost Boys and had the opportunity to know me. I have created a Private Discord Server, primarily for the purpose of fostering a sense of community and genuine connection. Over the years, platforms like Facebook have undergone countless changes, leaving many of us bewildered about its true purpose. Some have chosen to distance themselves from social media altogether, while others remain connected solely to stay in touch with loved ones.
